University at Mater Dei
Mater Dei College works in collaboration with Edith Cowan University and Murdoch University to provide students with a multitude of pathway options to enter university.
Both the Edith Cowan University (ECU) Preparation Course and Murdoch FlexiTrack High are fully endorsed by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) and count as four units towards the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE). Successful completion of either course would see students awarded a notional ATAR of 70 and entry into some university courses.
ECU’s Preparation Course promotes independent and collaborative learning techniques via individual and group learning experiences. Year 11 and 12 students will develop strong research, sound literacy and numeracy skills which are essential to prepare them for successful undergraduate level study.
Murdoch’s FlexiTrack High is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills and experience to succeed at university. The course is offered in Year 12 as an alternative to ATAR. Students learn the foundational academic skills of reading, writing, analysing and researching to engage critically with texts and argue effectively.
