Bishop Rosendo Salvado, the patron for Salvado House was a Benedictine Monk who devoted himself to his work, developing the Mission at New Norcia.
PATRON: Rosendo Salvado
Salvado’s physical endurance, courage and considerable resourcefulness was remarkable.
Once he walked 130 kilometres to Perth alone, eating whatever he could find from the land in a petition to Bishop Brady for funds for the Mission.
Upon being turned down, Rosendo Salvado, tattered from his marathon, organised and performed a piano recital to raise the necessary funds – all for the betterment of the community he called home.
