Benedict House derives it’s name from the association to the Benedictine Order within the Perth region and for
St Benedict, the patron saint of students.
Patron: St Benedict
It is believed that St Benedict spent his youth becoming a scholar, but in his late teens he made the decision to serve God.
In his quest to do so, he chose to live in solitude and peace – a life filled with labour to support his needs.
Others later followed his example and, thus, came the birth of monasteries. His practised devotion to both the work and the word of God is evident in his profound writings, teachings and personal example.
