Inter-House Swimming Carnival

The Inter-House Swimming Carnival is to be held on Friday 17 February at the HBF Arena Joondalup. The Carnival is compulsory for all students in Years 7 – 9 and selected students in Years 10 – 12. All remaining students in Years 10 – 12 are required to attend the College as per normal.

Students are expected to make their own way to and from the HBF Arena, Students are required to be at the venue by 8.30am and will be dismissed at 3.15pm.

For those students unable to make their own way to and/or from HBF Arena and for those students relying on Path Transit, bus shuttle services will depart the College at 8.00am and return to the College at 3.15pm. 

To indicate if your child/children need to access this shuttle service click on the Swimming Transport Survey Link HERE. The site will be closed at 9.00am Wednesday 15 February 2017. Please finalise bookings by this time.

The program of events is designed to accommodate all swimming ability levels.

If any parents/guardians would like to be an official on the day, please contact me at the College.

Attendance is compulsory as per College Policy. 

Uniform Requirements: 

  • · House shirt and College Sports shorts/skirt, socks and shoes 
  • · Bathers: Modest and practical design 


Personal Requirements: 

  • · College Sports Bag 
  • · Lunch and drinks 
  • · Café facilities at the HBF Arena will NOT be available for students to access. Students will need to bring their own food and drinks for the day. 


Note: Items such as personal music devices, mobile phones and magazines are NOT to be brought to the carnival.

Mater Dei College Bus Service

Mater Dei College has a specialised bus service. The service runs in Landsdale, Darch, Madeley, Pearsall, Hocking and Wanneroo to and from the College. Using the service is an opportunity to reduce traffic around the College and streamline access to and from school. Tickets must be purchased prior to boarding the bus from Student Services.

There are two options for tickets: 

Term Pass (please note that the card will only be valid for the term of issue and unused rides are not transferrable to another Term) Cost - $ 130 

Book of Ten Bus trips. Cost - $ 16.00

Replacement tickets incur a $5 fee.


Youth Mental Health First Aid Parent Course

There are still a few places available for this course that will be run on Tuesdays at 5.30pm for 4 consecutive Tuesdays (21 February to 14 March). The cost of the course is $50 and can be paid on the following link:

Ashlee Harwood

In early January, Ash headed to Sydney to compete with the WA U/17 team at the Australian National Championships. During this competition she held down the majority of the pitching for WA and did an amazing job, along with some pretty awesome fielding. Many people commented on what a bright future she is going to have in the sport (she was the youngest competitor by 12 months at the completion).

After a week off, Ashlee then competed with the WA U/15s at their Australian Regional Championships here in Perth.  WA came 4th (out of 12 teams) which is the best result WA has ever achieved in this age group (unfortunately NSW were just too strong and won again this year).

Tristan Hobley 

Tristan Hobley

Congratulations to Tristan Hobley (Year 12) who has been selected to participate in the 2017 Intra-squad trial match for the ACC Representative Cricket Team. The trial match will be held on Friday 3 March. Following the trial match a final team of 12 players will then be selected to play for the ACC against the Combined Government Schools team on Wednesday 8th March at the WACA Ground. We wish Tristan all the best.

I’m sure summer will turn up one day, when it does come and enjoy a 99.9% real fruit Slushie for only $2.00.

Enjoy a real cocoa Hot Chocolate from our Espresso machine for only $2.00 a cup or a Toast and Chocolate combo for $2.50, you can’t beat that for value!!

The Espresso machine is performing well serving all your favourite coffees, from Cappa’s, Flat Whites, Chai Latte to long Macs etc, with a choice Hazelnut, Caramel or Vanilla syrups.  Coffee is only available to all Adults, Year 10, 11 and 12s.

We have some new items such as, Froyo2go frozen yoghurts, all are Gluten Free except one, the Cookies and Cream, Sesame Snaps, Sultana and Apple packs, Goulburn Valley fruit cups with a variety of fruits. These are a great light snack, along with our other GF snacks and food items.

We have a huge range of different cool drinks now, a selection of mineral waters, iced teas and new juice boxes and real fruit juice 500ml that taste great and have real fruit in them. 

For Lunch, there is a different hot food choice each day, along with Ciabattas, Focaccias, Paninis and more.  Of course, the old favourites, a specialty salad, vegetarian options and gluten free are available.

We welcome any food suggestions, let us know what you would like us to supply, you never know if you don’t ask!
